ABOUT IFSI

The International Forum on Skills Intelligence in Postsecondary and Higher Education (IFSI) held its inaugural edition on July 2 – 3, 2025 (you can access the multimedia proceedings of the first edition here), organised by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.

The forum was luanched as a pioneering space designed to rethink the future of higher and postsecondary education through the lens of skills intelligence.

In 2026, IFSI becomes a year round virutal forum which showcases Skills Intelligence Innovators and Ecosystem Builders, by curating a cycle of five (5) online webinars throughout the year.

WHY IFSI?

IFSI exists to build a global platform for advancing the emerging interdisciplinary and multi-actor practice of Skills Intelligence–analysis, anticipation and alignment–in post-secondary and higher education. We aim to highlight high impact practices and partnerships. We’ll convene practitioners who translate labour-market signals into responsive curricula, micro-credentials, novel forms of career guidance, and institutional strategy.

IFSI 2026 Objectives

(1) Identify and showcase innovators and promote adoption by showcasing best practice, from small pilots to institution- and system-level integration.

(2) Map & connect Ecosystem Builders linking data, standards, and partnerships across education, employers, and public agencies.

(3) Strengthen a global community of practice to accelerate replication and ecosystem strengthening.
